It has an estimated population of about 200,000 inhabitants and it is located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, at the foot of the Sierra de las Nieves mountain range. The city was founded by the Romans as Aquae Flaviae (Flavian Wells) and later became known as Alcalá de los Gazules (Gazelle’s Well). In Roman times it was one of the most important cities of Hispania Tarraconensis. After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the Visigoths took control of the city until its conquest by the Moors in 711 AD. During this period, the name changed to El Alcázar or El Alcázar del Rey Don Fernando.

The village is located 5 km from the center of Finestrat, where there is a bus station and a railway station. The nearest airport is Alicante Airport, 15 km away.

La Mata

La Mata is a town and municipality located in the province of Alicant, region of Valencia, Spain. It is situated in the westernmost part of the comarca, bordering the provinces of Castellón and Murcia.

The town is bordered by the municipalities of Finestrat, Villanueva de Safor, Finestrat, Vila-real, Villarino, Orihuela, and Marbella. The municipality covers an area of 9.5 square kilometres and according to the 2005 census had a total population of 6,959 inhabitants.

Denia is a coastal town in the Denia Municipality, in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is one of the most important towns in the province of Alicante and it is the capital of the comarca of the same name.

The town is located at the mouth of the Guadalest River, on the right bank of the Guadalest estuary. The port of Denia is the second largest in the Valencian community after Altea.

There are many things to see and do in Denia. One of the main attractions is the Roman Theatre, built during the 2nd century BC. This theatre was used until the 4th century AD when it was destroyed by fire. Today, the ruins of the theatre are open to visitors.

Jávea/Xàbia

This town actually has two names – Jávea and Xàbia, and you’ll see them used interchangeably. The town is just a 40-minute drive north of Benidorm, in between the towns of Denia and Moraira, and it’s one of the more traditional Spanish towns on the Costa Blanca.

Jávea is home to the famous Catedral de Santa Maria del Camí, which dates back to the 12th century. It’s also known as the “Cathedral of the Sea” because of its location overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

If you want to visit the cathedral, make sure to get there early, as it gets very crowded!

Other than the cathedral, there are plenty of other interesting places to check out in Jávea. For example, the Palau de l’Almudaina is a 16th-century palace with a lovely garden. Another popular attraction is the Museu d’Art Contemporani, which houses works by artists such as Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró.

You should definitely take a trip down to the nearby town of Calpe, where you can enjoy the views of the mountains and sea from the cliffs.

Moraira

Moraira is a small seaside resort town in the Province of Alicante, in the Valenciana Region of northern Spain. It lies on the southern side of the Bay of Moraira, facing the island of Formentera.

It’s a great place to relax and unwind. There are lots of shops, restaurants and bars along the promenade.

The town is surrounded by beautiful nature. There are many parks, forests and rivers to explore.

One of the biggest attractions is the Parque Natural de la Península de Ronda. It’s a protected natural park that covers over 1,000 hectares (2,500 acres) of land. It contains a variety of flora and fauna.

Another must-see is the Castell de Sa Plana, which sits atop a hill overlooking the city. It’s an old castle that was built in the 13th century.

Albir

Albir is a small fishing village in the municipality of Albir, in the province of Valencia, Spain. It is situated about 15 kilometres south of Orihuela and 30 kilometres west of Torrevieja.

Santa Pola

Santa Pola is located on the eastern coast of Spain, in the province of Alicante. It is part of the comarca of Marina Alta.

The town itself is quite small, but it does have a lot of history behind it. In fact, it was once a major port for trade and shipping.

Today, the town still retains much of its past glory. Many of the buildings date back to the 18th century.

There is a large church in the centre of town called the Iglesia de San Juan Bautista. It was originally built in 1729, but most of it was destroyed during the civil war.
